ASR 33 Teletype Printing Video

This video demonstrates the operation of the print mechanism of the ASR 33 Teletype. The codebars below the print head cause the print wheel to rotate and move up to select the correct character to print. The power bail then makes the print wheel hit the inked ribbon to print the character on the paper. The print assembly is then moved over one character position.

The ASR 33 teletype can print 64 characters which only allowed for UPPER CASE LETTERS, numbers, and symbols.

The video is available in several formats. How to view videos. The video is 10 seconds.
