W Serial board information
The W series FLIP-CHIP boards were used in
the original PDP-8 introduced in 1965 and peripherals. They were
also sold as building block boards for custom hardware.
They provided input-output compatibility between FLIP CHIP modules and other
digital devices. Inputs up to +- 48 volts, outputs up to +-135 volts or 10
amps, bouncing contacts, long transmission lines, all can be handled by one
or more of these modules.
The W series boards have White handles.
